Boon Tat heads the firm’s Infrastructure, Construction & Engineering Practice. He also co-heads the Sustainability Practice.
Boon Tat has been involved in a number of significant energy and infrastructure projects in Singapore and the region. He regularly advises clients on tender documentation and process, contract documentation, procurement and project risk management. He also provides strategic advice to clients in the sustainable mobility sector, particularly electrical vehicle infrastructure, to manage their risks more efficiently and create value in a dynamic business environment.
On the contentious side, he is a well-regarded counsel and has acted on disputes relating to infrastructure projects, oil refineries, power and petrochemical plants, water treatment facilities, and commercial & residential developments in Singapore, China, Taiwan and Vietnam. He has represented clients at all levels of the Singapore courts, in arbitrations and adjudications.

Arbitration
- Representing a consortium of international engineering and construction companies in a USD 400million claim in a SIAC arbitration arising out of the construction of a multi-billion USD oil refinery in Southeast Asia.
- Representing a leading Southeast Asian engineering and construction company in a claim exceeding SGD 100million against a statutory body in a SIAC arbitration arising out of an underground expressway project in Singapore.
- Representing the main contractor in a SGD 46million claim against a statutory body in a SIAC arbitration arising out of a public transportation infrastructure project in Singapore.
- Representing an international contractor in the defence of a SGD 35million claim in a SIAC arbitration brought by a specialist sub-contractor arising out of the construction of an airport terminal in Singapore.
- Representing a state petroleum corporation in the defence of a claim exceeding USD 20million in an ICC arbitration brought by a main contractor arising out of the construction of a petrochemical plant in Taiwan.
Court Litigation
- Representing a specialist roofing contractor in a SGD 14million claim in the Singapore High Court against a supplier for breach of contract arising out of the construction of a multi-billion dollar Integrated Resort in Singapore.
- Representing a GLC developer in the defence of a SGD 12million claim brought by a façade contractor in the Singapore High Court for breach of contract arising out of the construction of a major government project in Singapore.
